It's been six years since the Rollins family just up and left and now the troubled Solomon family has come from Chicago, to rebuild their lives following their sons hospitalization due to their daughter's drunk driving accident. But as they start to settle in something odd and strange begins to occur to their son. Could something supernatural be at work, and did the previous family just leave…or are they still here? Trapped in the only place they've ever known? And what did cause their deaths? Most of all…is this 'killer' still very much alive?

There is evidence to suggest that children are highly susceptible to paranormal phenomena. They see what adults cannot. They believe what adults deny. And they are trying to warn us.

Did You Know?

At the film premiere in Minot, North Dakota, when Bobby said "Welcome to North Dakota," the audience broke out in laughter.

Plot holes:
The people in the area believe that the Rollins "just up and left", however surely they would have noticed that John Rollins was still in town? Despite going under the name John Burwell and growing a ponytail, he is still clearly the same person; as we see when Jess recognizes him from a photo.

Nothing new, but not unwatchable

Rating: 6/10

I saw this one tonight at a screening, and I wasn't entirely
disappointed. I'll be honest — there's nothing new in The Messengers.
It's all been seen before in earlier, more original movies. This one is
kind of a "best of" reel of some good ideas from other horror movies.
If you're looking for something original and scary, this isn't it. If
you're looking for a little jumpy fun, I can't say this one is a miss.
By virtue of the "good ideas" being good, they work. What it lacks in
originality it makes up for in assembling them in a reasonably coherent

My only real gripe is that Dylan McDermitt looks about as out of place
working the fields of his farm as any actor I can think of. They could
have at least tried a LITTLE bit harder casting that part.

Think The Birds + Ju On + Amityville Horror + Sixth Sense.
