Raise Your Voice is a coming-of-age story centered around a small-town singer, brokenhearted by the death of her brother in a car crash, who had secretly submitted her for a summer session at a performing arts academy in Los Angeles. In the performing arts academy, she experiences a whole new way of life in the big city, far from the small town lifestyle she's used to. The film will revolve around her efforts to confront her lack of formal classic training and deal with a romantic entanglement.

Did You Know?
Was originally entitled "Heart of Summer", but the film's release date was pushed back from August to October, so the title was changed accordingly.
When Terri and Jay are talking at the water fountain, in the close up shots, Terri has her arms on either her bag or across her chest but in the far away shots, her hand are down by her side. They keep switching in and out.
Have a very pleasant Summer everyone. Miss Fletcher, rehearsal tomorrow at four.
Heartfelt…most underrated film of the year!
I went to see Raise Your Voice expecting the worst. What I left with
was a lump in my throat and a sincere admiration for this young
actress/singer Hilary Duff.
People are so hard on her and she just seems so unworthy of such
criticism. Sure it's a squeaky clean Fame…and it's kinda cliché.
But…the performances of Hilary as well as her supporting cast were
honorable. This movie certainly doesn't deserve the bashing it's
I was especially impressed with the young supporting cast including Kat
Dennings, Johnny K. Lewis and Dana Davis. Not to mention John Corbett
who by far was one of the greatest things in this film.
I cared…I cried…and when it was all over I honestly felt inspired.
I give this film a 6 out of 10…because it makes u care..it really
