It's vacation time for Det. James Carter and he finds himself alongside Det. Lee in Hong Kong wishing for more excitement. While Carter wants to party and meet the ladies, Lee is out to track down a Triad gang lord who may be responsible for killing two men at the American Embassy. Things get complicated as the pair stumble onto a counterfeiting plot by L.A. crime boss Steven Reign and Triad Ricky Tan, an ex-cop who played a mysterious part in the death of Det. Lee's father. Throw in a power struggle between Tan and the gorgeous but dangerous Hu Li and the boys are soon up to their necks in fist fights and life-threatening situations. A trip back to the U.S. may provide the answers about the bombing, the counterfeiting, and the true allegiance of sexy customs agent Isabella. Then again, it may turn up more excitement than Carter was looking for during his vacation.

Did You Know?
Ziyi Zhang could not speak English, so she had to take direction via the combination of an interpreter (often Jackie Chan himself) and Brett Ratner essentially performing "charades". Her character only says three English words in the movie: "Some apple?" and, later, "Out!" In an interview, Roselyn Sanchez said that Ziyi Zhang tried learning English from her, but tried to discourage her as she would have ended up speaking it with a Puerto Rican accent.
The wall in the massage parlor moves when pushed during the fight.
Why didn't you tell me you had a bomb in your mouth?
No you did not!
I said "mmm!"
What the hell is "mmm! mmm!"
mmm, mmm. Bomb!
I've seen it 4 times, and it still makes me laugh!
Rush Hour 2 is one of those rare sequels that turn out to be either
just as just as much if not equally more hilarious than the first. This
summer, I had several opportunities to see this film and of course took
those chances because I just couldn't stop laughing at this film, no
matter how I knew what would happen in the next scene. It has great
humor and great chemistry that we haven't seen between two actors since
Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.
Carter and Lee are back and starting off where the first Rush Hour left
off and that's in China. Carter is expecting a dream vacation full of
"mushoo's" a.k.a girls! Lee is standing in the way of that though
taking on his old cases, including finding out about a counterfeit
scam, and finding out who killed his father. He fools Carter several
times, but together eventually team back to discover that you just
"follow the rich white man" back to America and end up working
undercover with the sexy Isabella Molina. But things get deeper as Lee
finds out that the counterfeit scam and his father's killer might to be
Rush Hour 2 is one of the funniest movies I have seen, not to mention
one of the best movies of the year! I was extremely happy to see this
movie and I cannot wait until the DVD! Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are
just amazing and I cannot wait until the third Rush Hour release, I
just know it'll be a great one!
